This week Derek is on assignment so Deeps and I talk about In Plain Sight, Burn Notice, The Closer, Saving Grace, The Middleman, Fear Itself, Doctor Who, the new series The Cleaner, and Doctor Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog.
And we field a call about Get Smart and Life On Mars.

This week Deeps and I wonder about ice dams crashing through the window while we record the final podcast of 2007 - and it's a humdinger. First we say hello to new listeners both here and abroad. I call out our listeners in Brazil to email me.
We take a look at the
Extras Christmas Special Series Finale and the dark side of fame; Deeps says farewell to Journeyman; we discuss the spartan dialogue and expansive scenes from the latest entry in the Big Red Film Festival -
Bullitt; we take a look back at all the stuff we liked in 2007 and finally, we talk about the big Dexter finale and the second season.
If you haven't seen Dexter and want to watch it, we left that part of the podcast to the end. And if you want to listen to the episode where we have a
heated discussion about Knocked Up check out episode 34.
Oh and if you're interested in seeing that famous nine minute car chase from Bullitt, you can find
an excerpt from it on YouTube.
Thanks very much for listening to us in 2007 - we'll be back on Sunday, January 6, 2008!

This week on a very special Big Red Podcast, Deeps and I wonder what will happen to Derek's car after
a few feet of snow.
Luckily, he's safe and warm at home so Deeps and I carry on without him to discuss Dexter's penultimate episode, melancholy Christmas on Pushing Daisies, Santa monsters on Supernatural and traveling through time on both Journeyman and
Life on Mars.
Plus we offer the first part of our 2007 Year in Review - Disappointments! We delayed the review of
Bullitt due to huge snow removal responsibilities. Frankly, it's a wonder we're still able to record a show this week after the incredible amount of shoveling we did.

This week Derek, Deeps and I take a tough look at at the devious, deluded mind of Dexter Morgan and offer our predictions on what might happen to him in these final two episodes of the season.
We offer our final assessment of Heroes - possibly ever - for the podcast. Then Derek tells us what happens when you've overstayed your welcome in ER and Grey's Anatomy. Finally, we discuss the tweaking of characters and story on both Dirty Sexy Money and Reaper. Is it enough?
Plus we offer up our thoughts on the first entry of the Big Red Film Festival,
The Thin Man - and what it means to be married, drunk, and fabulous in the movies.

Derek is on assignment this week - or on the run. You decide.
Deeps and I talk about Dexter, Heroes, Mad Men, the new series
Samantha Who?, what Pushing Daisies can learn from Ugly Betty, the final one hour episode of The Office, and our weekly showdown between Chuck and Reaper.
Plus we're getting ready for
Podcamp Boston 2. Can you feel the excitement?

Look - we didn't mean to be angry. But some TV disappointed us a little bit this week. Some shows are on probation, some shows have been dumped altogether.
But it wasn't all doom and gloom. We still liked Ugly Betty, Supernatural, Pushing Daisies and Chuck. Plus we belatedly take a look at
Women's Murder Club and reconsider Carpoolers.

For those who care, episode 49 of
The Big Red Podcast is on deck for this weekend. Deeps, Derek and I have been racing to watch as much new stuff as possible so that we might focus on returning shows for episode 50. See how nicely that works out?
And I think we might have a review of an Errol Morris film. I can't say for certain because certain members of the household are asleep and can't tell me if they are ready to discuss the film.
Plus I found the pilot for Big Bang Theory on iTunes. And we watched Chuck, Life and Journeyman on NBC's On Demand sneak peek. I'm sure there is something else....
We're going long this week, dear listeners. That's what she said.

This week Derek returns to join me and Deeps for discussion of three big TV finales: Heroes, Veronica Mars and LOST. We try to make sense of exploding men, the end of an era, and what happens when you get what you wish for.
Plus Derek and I fight.

Right - so we recorded Episode 32 last night before the Heroes finale. That's probably good, since I could spend another hour complaining about it.
Anyway, we talk about How I Met Your Mother, penultimate episodes for Veronica, Heroes and LOST, and discuss the Boehm Body Count Rule.

This week I insist - several times - that we're doing episode 30. We're not. We're on 31. This is typical of me, I still think I'm not 32. Whatever.
Deeps and I analyze the run ups to finales for Heroes and LOST; we talk about Paul Rudd on Veronica Mars; and we take a look at the new
ABC series Traveler.
I also beg for donations for Donors Choose. I'm not above begging.

This week Deeps and I discuss the wonders of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in
Hot Fuzz (remember Shaun of the Dead?), celebrity Q&As, waiting in really long lines, Hey it's that guy - British edition, noir on a desert island, and
Zach Galifianakis's new DVD.
Derek is off doing exciting stuff like selling kidneys on the black market or buying a house or something. He'll be back soon. He is powerless in the face of my cheese potato casserole. Brunch is awesome.

This week Derek is back and we cover a few more new mid-season shows including wacky Jeff Goldblum vehicle,
Raines; the latest incarnation of
Robin Hood on BBC America; the pretentious and overblown
October Road; and I make a pitch for saving Veronica Mars – in two parts!
Plus we wax poetic about
The Fly, winter weather, and
Eddie Izzard’s eyebrows. See, I made a funny!

This week I invited Erin and Salena to join me and Derek to discuss neo-noir in Southern California on a little show we like to call Veronica Mars. We cover theories about who killed the dean, fathers and daughters, femme fatales, and share our best reasons for watching the show.
We talk extensively about the mysteries from seasons 1, 2 and 3 - be warned!

I didn't forget about you, don't worry!
This week Derek sleeps off his nerd hangover so I recruited my friend Salena to pitch hit. She does a good job as we discuss: How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs, The Office, Grey's Anatomy (why is "To Be Continued" even necessary?),
Armed and Famous, Alec Baldwin's terrifying powers on 30 Rock, My Name is Earl, and we tease a little something we saw on the Internets about LOST and Veronica Mars.
Plus we wax nostalgic (ever so briefly) about Patrick Swayze,
Dirty Dancing and slumber parties. Don't worry, we don't over-girl it.
